Matthew Everhard is the Senior Pastor of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Called to the pulpit at 31 years of age, Matthew became the youngest Senior Pastor in the Presbytery of Florida.

Native Ohioans from the Akron area, he and his lovely wife Kelly have three children, Soriah (age 10, an aspiring artist and writer) and Elijah (age 7, an aspiring ninja), and Simone (age 2, aspiring to be a lawyer).

Matthew and Kelly met and fell in love during a mission trip in 1998 where they rode in the same van together for a number of hours. Their first date was a walk along Chicago's Navy Pier, chaperoned uncomfortably by Kelly's younger sister. Eight months later, Matthew "courageously" proposed to Kelly just a week prior to his leaving the country for a six-month mission trip to Africa! In April of 2000, she married him anyway. It has been wonderful ever since.

Besides preaching, teaching, and writing, Matthew enjoys riding bikes with the family and playing in the backyard with the children.

Matthew is a graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary (Ashland Ohio) and
Malone University (Canton Ohio). During his course of study at ATS Matthew concentrated in the field of Spiritual Formation with a minor in New Testament Greek. As an undergraduate at Malone, Matthew majored in Bible and Theology, again with a concentration in Greek. Matthew has also done post-graduate study at Reformed Theological Seminary.

Matthew also is deeply interested in missions, having served on the mission fields of Equatorial Guinea (Central West Africa), El Salvador (five times), Mexico (four times), Ukraine, the Cayman Islands, and the Bahamas (yes, really).
Matthew is the author of a number of books. His two newest books are published by Faith Church Publishing. They are "Christ Our Supreme Joy," derived from ten sermons on the Gospel of John, and "The Children's Catechism," (pictured at right) a Scripture memory resource for parents and children.

His other books include: "Abortion: The Evangelical Perspective" (BIBAL PRESS, 2007); and "Rock Solid: Helping Teens Discover the Truth of Christianity" (Reformation Press, 2005). All of these titles can be purchased at the welcome center. Matthew has also recently released "A Personal Reformation: The Westminster Confession of Faith and the Christian Disciplines." This e-book can be accessed free of charge at www.monergism.com a well-respected source of Reformed theological works.

He is also an avid reader and enjoys works on church history, especially the Reformation and the Puritans. Among writers living and dead, Matthew surrounds himself with the comfort and counsel of John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, R.C. Sproul, and John Piper among others.

His greatest passion and supreme treasure, however, is the Lord Jesus Christ who captured his heart in 1990 and has not let go since.
