Mission applications go out mid February and mission training starts in the spring.
To apply for missions you must be in at least the 7th grade and at least 12 years old. You must also be a regular attendee of youth ministry activities, including youth rally.
Students are given challenging tasks such as: scripture memorization, sermon evaluations, devotional readings, Scripture reflections, and life applications. They must also learn to present the gospel in a systematic way, and are given both a written and oral evaluation on this.
Returning team members or Former Team Members (FTM's) are given addition tasks and required to write and give their own devotion on the mission field.
Students are also taught very practical skills such as: how to speak to adults, how to initiate conversations, how to shake hands, work ethic, etiquette, and team work.
Our mission teams go out to other churches with the purpose of helping to jump start other youth ministries that are either just starting or are in need of repair. We use drama, music and youth and family rallies to preach the gospel, encourage other believers, and be an example to churches of what a youth ministry focused on Christ can do. Our youth are given the opportunity to share their faith directly, corporately and through their witness.
In the past we have visited churches in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Michigan, Colorado, and even Nassau, Bahamas.
