Several of our children have made a profession of faith in our Lord Jesus, during this past year.  Some did this at our Vacation Bible School last summer, while others did it at other times.  Some of these children have never been baptized and will have the opportunity to do so this Easter, April 20th, at the Weeki Wachee River.

In order to prepare them for this, Pastor Dave we be teaching a two-week Sunday School class on April 6th and April 13th  at 9:00 AM, on the meaning of Baptism, the Lord’s Supper and Membership in the Church.  We will be reviewing the gospel message so they will have a better understanding of what God has done in their lives.

This class will be taught in the 4th and 5th grade class in the Family Life Center.  All children who have made this profession of faith, but have not been baptized are welcome to attend, regardless of grade.

If you desire your child, or children, to attend this class, please contact Marilyn Clark at  352-848-5389 or marilynannclark05@gmail.com  so we may know the number of children attending.  The exciting timing of this class is that the very next week these children will have the opportunity to be baptized on Easter Sunday

Coming in January - "The Jerks of the Bible"

If "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2Tim 3:16), why do we find characters in the Bible that seem to have no redeeming characteristics? Join us as we study these "jerks" to find out what God wants to teach us. Don't be suprised if you find your traits in common with characters like Pharaoh, Haman or Jezebel! Our study format will be light hearted, interactive and input driven.

The Gospel According to Mark

You are familiar with television documentaries. Mark is a "DOCUDRAMA" of the life and ministry of Jesus. Consider yourself Mark's travelling companion with running shoes on as you go from scene to scene with Mark as the storyteller. It is a fast paced gospel - the word "immediately" is used forty one times. Mark is not so much a chronological replay of Jesus's life. From the very beginning, it is full of vivid encounters that Jesus has with those he healed, the crowds massed around Him, the Pharisees and the disciples.

Mark is generally accepted as the earliest gospel written with Matthew and Luke to quickly follow - both using Mark's gospel as a source for their work. Most scholars have surmised that Mark takes all his information from the Apostle Peter whom he served in Peter's later years. Mark is short to the point - no muss, no fuss.

Why would I take this class? The Lord uses the Word to confirm our faith, to enlighten our minds, and deliver hope. This class affords one the opportunity to be taught, to question and then to apply. Many need to increase their skills in studying the Bible - a weekly routine helps to establish a rewarding habit.
